The Fen lies alongside the river Itchen and has chalk stream, fen and woodland habitats. It is a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation but has little active management. The group was founded in 2017 local volunteers, to study the site and help to manage it for biodiversity.
Into the Spring season now - we need to be careful about disturbing nesting birds.
With the dry weather, we are taking the opportunity to put some donated slabs down along the footpath, to make it easier in wet weather, This section can become very muddy.
